Use case

When to use this

PE teachers need teams that are fair (no one stuck always last-picked), fast (under 30 seconds), and visible (kids see they were assigned by chance, not by favouritism). This page is preset for 4 colour-named teams — drop your class register and go.

How to use it

Step by step

  1. 1

    Paste class register

Most school systems export to a plain list — paste it directly.

  2. 2

    Set 4 colour teams

    Pre-selected here.

  3. 3

    Display on the board

Project the result so everyone sees the random allocation.

Why the 'colors' naming helps

Children remember colours easier than 'Team 1'. Coloured bibs match Red Team / Blue Team / Green Team / Yellow Team naturally. The colour scheme is preset on this page and recycles across 16 distinct colours if you need more teams.

Tactic: re-roll once

If a team looks lopsided, re-roll once. Re-rolling more than twice signals to students that you are picking favourites — which is exactly what the tool exists to avoid. One re-roll is fine, two becomes a vibe.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

After the page loads once, the tool keeps working even if the wifi drops — it runs in the browser, not the cloud.

Is student data safe?

Yes. Names never leave the device. There is no server, no analytics on the input.

Can I save the teams between lessons?

Use the Copy or CSV download to paste into your lesson notes.
